Edit House Productions is pleased to announce the arrival of our new production cameras, a pair of Sony FX-9s. In 2015, Edit House Productions saw the rising need in our market for 4K video cameras. We’d also been the first in New Mexico to produce a 1080p, high-definition television commercial in 2007. Edit House Productions has been an industry leader in creating professional videos for commercials, documentaries, and web videos, also called explainer videos.
In 2021, we saw the need to expand our equipment list. After much research, we opted to purchase two Sony FX-9 video production cameras, which are Netflix-approved. The Netflix benchmark means the cameras have been evaluated to ensure the cameras meet the needed dynamic range, detail rendition, color accuracy, signal-to-noise ratio, resolution, and workflow requirements. It’s Netflix’s stamp of approval that the cameras are the best and most appropriate technology for today’s production standards.
The Sony FX9 camera is one of the most advanced cameras on the market today, featuring a 6k image sensor, recording full-frame 4k (4096×2160). The camera includes many advanced features like duo ISO, auto face tracking focus, and a variable, automatic ND filter. The duo ISO is a great feature when filming in very dark scenes and has the ability to adjust the ISO up to 32,000, or, when filming very bright scenes, the camera’s ISO can be set to as low as 320 ISO. The advanced face tracking autofocus is a welcomed feature. The focus point can now be set to a specific face in a scene, and the camera will automatically track the motion and keep that person’s face completely in focus, even in a group setting. The auto-veritable ND filter is another great addition. The ND filter can be set to auto, allowing the camera to adjust the ND when going into a dark room from a sunlit shot outdoors. The ND also offers the ability to manually adjust the filter to an exact setting, no more of just a set ¼, 1/8, or 1/16 filter.
Edit House Productions is excited to use these cameras in future productions. Edit House Productions also offers the cameras on a rental basis to interested filmmakers. Our 2,000-square-foot film studio is also a great opportunity for filmmakers in New Mexico and worldwide.
