The appointment is a significant honor, with over 300 applicants being considered for the board. Appointees were selected based on their experience in their respective fields and their involvement and their leadership role in their community. Ed Smith will represent New Mexico businesses in the Arts, A/V, and Communications sector.
The New Mexico CTE Statewide Advisory Board was established on August 9, 2024. It is comprised of local business and community professionals, educators, students, administrators, and parents. The board’s mission is to support the development, establishment, and evaluation of CTE programs, ensuring that students acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the modern workforce. The goal is to “blur the lines of students” between high school, college, and a chosen career.
