Edit House Productions has a long history with clients and friends at The Catholic Foundation in Albuquerque, NM. The Catholic Foundation was formed in 1991 and focuses on acquiring donations from the community that is then reinvested. Grant recipients are then awarded in the Archdiocese of Santa Se for charitable causes like historic preservation, human services, capital improvements, faith formation, and Catholic education.
Edit House Productions has been honored to work with The Catholic Foundation since 2014 and has since created a yearly video for the organization.
This year’s focus for The Catholic Foundation was Historic Preservation. Edit House Productions created a nine-and-a-half-minute video highlighting the grantees and the updates they have been able to provide the community with the funds from The Catholic Foundation. Over $555,000 has been awarded to grantees in 2022 alone.
In this year’s video, Edit House Productions traveled to Truchas, New Mexico, to the Truchas Mission Church. In Truchas, Edit House Productions interviewed several communities and church leaders, having them tell the story of the historic church.
Edit House Productions also traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico, to the San Miguel Chapel, built in 1609, which is the oldest church in America. While in Santa Fe, we heard from multiple community members and recorded the history of the iconic church.
Editing for the project began in min-2022. Over 6 hours of footage was recorded, which was then edited into the nine-minute video. Over the course of the project, Kim Smith, co-owner and producer of the video, later mentioned, “It was incredible to be able to be a part of creating a piece of history. Being able to be in these historic churches is a blessing.”
