Edit House Productions LLC has been in the Rio Rancho and Albuquerque area for nearly 20 years! We are so grateful to be a part of such a unique and vibrant community, and over the years we have made it a priority to give back. Video is a powerful and dynamic medium, and we know it works, so we love providing support in the form of video production services to local nonprofits. Over the past few months, we have been working on producing an emotional documentary, showcasing the work of Haven House.

Haven House is Sandoval County’s only domestic violence shelter. The work that they are doing to help women escape abusive relationships and reclaim their independence is empowering and life-saving. Not only does Haven House offer emergency shelter, food and clothing for victims of domestic violence, but they also provide free legal consultation and advocacy, life-skills classes, and employment referrals. Haven House staff works hard to help women heal and thrive.

Edit House has been working with Haven House throughout the years to help them reach out to the community and bring attention to domestic violence issues. The documentary that we just completed is a great example of that – It tells the remarkable survival stories of three women who found safety and support at Haven House. Their touching stories provide hope to others and show that it’s okay to seek out help.

Edit House Productions hosted a premier for the documentary and donated the proceeds to Haven House. Local news stations were among those in attendance, and there was so much interest in the documentary that we were asked to produce 30 second PSA’s cut from the documentary to run on various stations free of charge. We are pleased with the extra exposure for Haven House we were able to attract.

Haven House is just one of the many nonprofit organizations we have had the pleasure of assisting. We are always happy to provide our video production and advertising expertise at no cost to help out a cause we believe in. If you feel that video can benefit your nonprofit, watch our Haven House Documentary at our YouTube channel and give us a call at 896-3388. We look forward to discussing how we can help you and give back to our community.

Kim Smith

Kim says she’s always been fascinated with mass communication and the way that people receive news, advertisements, and information. That’s changed a lot in the last few years!

At Edit House, she’s involved in the development of video messages for our clients’ broadcast media buys, website, and training videos as well as overseeing the media buying for our clients.

She loves learning the specifics of each client’s business and designing a plan to move them forward.

Kim also loves documentary production and has won several national and international awards for writing and production. Those productions have taken Kim and Ed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to NASA’s mission control in Houston, to most areas of New Mexico.

Kim earned her MA and BA degrees in Mass Communication from the University of South Dakota, then taught at state universities in Kansas before starting her own advertising agency in 1990. After a move to New Mexico in 1995 and 10 years in broadcast television sales management, she joined Ed in the company in 2005.

She enjoys gardening, camping, cooking, and time with her family and golden retriever, Pete.
